Try It Thursday: New Workout Shoes Promise Barefoot Experience

Looking to maximize their workouts, regular exercisers, Lisa Ursino and Jeff Bell couldn't wait to give these glove-style shoes a try.

"They're not as bulky as tennis shoes, more flexible. Your feet can breath a little better. I thought they'd be really good for kickboxing to grip the floor, for yoga, for stretches. I thought overall they'd be pretty good; we'll see how the hold up," said Ursino.

We traded in our trusty workout shoes to find out.

Putting the FiveFingers on was the hard part.

"I think two toes are going into one [pocket], Ursino said. "Come on, this goes over here."

We worked up a good sweat in Ursino's hour-long cardio kickboxing class. After cooling down, Ursino and Bell weighed in on their barefoot experience.

"The grip is great, and they're nice and light comma" Bell said.

"You don't slide, you can hold a pose, you can stand on one foot and kick, but any kind of jumping or jumping jacks are hard," said Ursino. "I would not recommend them for high-impact cardio. However, for Pilates I think they would be great."

And for that, the FiveFingers got a neutral thumb.
