WJAC Weather Kid

Want to be our next WJAC Weather Kid?

We're looking for kids who are interested in weather to be a part of our WJAC-TV News Sunrise team. Selected students will be invited in on Friday mornings to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Severe Weather Center and WJAC studios. Students will learn how the weather forecasts are put together.

They will also learn what it takes to be on camera. During the morning show, our selected student will have the opportunity to go on-air with Chief Meteorologist Jim Burton to give the day's weather forecast.

Requirements

> Students must be in 6th through 12th grades.
> Students must have the ability to get to the WJAC-TV Studios by 5 AM.
> Students should have an interest in weather.

How To Enter

> In an e-mail to weather@wjactv.com, send the following...
> A short essay saying why you want to be a WJAC Weather Kid
> A picture to include on our website
> Your NAME, PHONE NUMBER, E-MAIL ADDRESS, AGE, GRADE, SCHOOL.

Essays will be judged by the Severe Weather Team and winners will then be contacted.

Sunday: The day will start with some sunshine but clouds will roll back in later in the afternoon.

Monday: A storm system will move up the coast, bringing a chance for a bit of rain.

Discussion: A strong cold front will arrive for the middle of next week, ushering in the coldest airmass of the season so far. Some snow is likely on Thanksgiving and Friday.
