If you're a news junkie, or just can't stand being the last to hear about big stories, then Desktop Alert could be just what you've always wanted.

Exclusive:  News & Weather Desktop Alert

It's the Your Early Warning Neighborhood Forecast Desktop Alert, but better than ever before. Stay connected to WJAC-TV News whenever you're online, no matter where you are in cyberspace. Once downloaded, the Desktop Alert sits in your task bar at the bottom of your computer screen and will blink and make a sound when there is national or local breaking news from WJAC-TV News.

It will also alert you to Severe Weather Team watches and warnings for the counties that you've signed up for.

CURRENT DESKTOP ALERT USERS
You must first uninstall the old version in order to install the new one. Follow the steps below:
  1. If Desktop Weather is running, right click on the Desktop Weather icon and then choose exit.
  2. Select Start menu, then Programs.
  3. Go to Desktop Weather listing, click on Uninstall Desktop Weather.
  4. Click YES when you are prompted.
  5. Follow instructions to load the NEW Desktop Alert.

Sunday: The day will start with some sunshine but clouds will roll back in later in the afternoon.

Monday: A storm system will move up the coast, bringing a chance for a bit of rain.

Discussion: A strong cold front will arrive for the middle of next week, ushering in the coldest airmass of the season so far. Some snow is likely on Thanksgiving and Friday.
