Behind the scenes for the Hofstra debate

By Jamie Dupree

The center of the political universe tonight is Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, as President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney will face off in a town hall format where undecided voters will ask most of the questions tonight.

Once again, there is a very large media filing center that has been set up for the press corps.

Here is a view of my seat and the rows and rows of work space for me and my colleagues:

Once again there is also a very large area for post-debate reaction, what is called "Spin Alley," where surrogates from both campaigns will try to argue that their man won the debate.

The first debate in Denver turned out to be a big win for Mitt Romney, pushing him up in the polls nationally and in key swing states - we'll see what shakes out tonight.

Oh, and one more thing - there is a special tent across the street.
