Detroit, MI -- (Sports Network) - Becky Hammon led the way with 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting, including five three-pointers, as the San Antonio Silver Stars topped the short-handed Detroit Shock, 76-64.Ann Wauters and Ruth Riley chipped in 14 points each for the Silver Stars, who have split their last six games. Deanna Nolan led the way for Detroit with a game-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting while Katie Smith added 13 points for the Shock, who extended their season-high losing streak to four games. In a possible preview of the WNBA Finals, the matchup unfolded as a battle of two first-place teams playing their last contest before the month-long Olympic break. The Shock were without Plenette Pierson and Sheri Sam who are continuing to serve suspensions linked to last week's infamous brawl with the Los Angeles Sparks. Five Detroit players were suspended and Cheryl Ford sustained a season-ending knee injury in the fracas.
