Catchings Helps Fever Overcome Mystics

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

(Sports Network) - Tamika Catchings led all players with 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Indiana Fever to a 79-68 victory over the Washington Mystics.

Tan White and Katie Douglas each contributed 19 points for Indiana, which has won two in a row and three of four. Tully Bevilaqua added 10 points for the Fever, which shot 39.3 percent (11-of-28) from three-point range as a team. White finished 5-for-9 and Catchings went 4-for-9 from beyond the arc.

Alana Beard had 17 points, while Nakia Sanford scored 15, but no other Mystics player scored in double-figures. Washington led, 45-37, at the half, but scored just 10 points in the third quarter en route to the loss -- the Mystics' fourth straight.
